This afternoon I spent a couple of hours raking out old pine straw from one of my flower beds and replacing it with fresh. I was impressed with how some of the plants seem to love the cooler weather - flowering almost as if it were Spring - while others were ready for the compost bin. Saturday afternoon I took the camera out to take this picture of the knock out rose and the impatiens all around it that are still blooming. It was already getting dark, and I had to use the flash.
