Snowy Day

I love a beautiful snow once or twice a winter - especially if it falls on a weekend when I don't have to worry about getting to work over slippery roads.   The snow began falling last night,  and by mid-day today we had 4-5 inches of snow and ice on the ground.  This photo is taken from the 2nd floor balcony looking out over our backyard and down the hill behind the house.
Looking across the driveway from the front door.  The snow didn't accumulate on the tree branches - partly because it was so windy and partly because there was so much sleet.

Ice formed on the shrubs in front of the house - but I didn't see much anywhere else.

A snowflake flag hanging from the deck.  I almost took it down last week when it was 61 degrees.

Bear, our beautiful snow dog!  But even she wasn't so sure about going out when it was coming down heavily this morning.

A snow-kissed camellia blossom.

Our side steps looked like a ski slope -

until Hal shoveled them.

I love the contrast of red berries and snow!

The bunnies were nearly buried and the bird bath fairy had a lap full of snow.

The birds flocked to the feeders all day.  I took this picture through the window.
