I was amazed to find a Rhododendron hidden under ivy and other vines in my backyard when we moved here in 2003. I had always thought of
Rhododendron as needing cooler temps than Eastern North Carolina provides. But this one has done well under the shade of tall pines, and I was exited to see the beautiful blooms begin to appear this weekend.

Its always good to find a surprise like that. the color on the rhododendron is very nice too!
The shady spot probably keeps it happy. I love Rhododendrons and cannot wait until mine blooms.Your is so pretty.IS it a PJM?
