Warmed by autumn's fire - Garden Bloggers Bloom Day

Agastache
The November blooms are the colors of warm winter fires -
shades of red, orange and gold
glowing in the low autumn light.
Coreopsis
Lantana
Blanket flower
Hot lips salvia
Black-eyed Susans continue to bloom on the deck, next to the violas and mums.  The geranium is blooming as it did in May, cozy in the pot with the euphorbia.

With the trees overhead glowing with the same colors of red and gold,
the world outside my door is transformed.
The dogwoods are still holding on to their ruby leaves, though the chestnut oaks
and sassafras are in a hurry to shed theirs.
Even the spirea has put on a multi-hued coat.
Each phase of the life cycle has its own beauty and its own personality.  Spring is birth, excitement, energy, and fresh color.  Summer is like the teenager - rambunctious and growing rapidly, bright and even gaudy.  But fall - it's the season I relate to.  Winding down, reflective, comforting and beautiful in an entirely different way.
Thanks to Carol at May Dreams Gardens for hosting Garden Bloggers Bloom Day.  Head on over to see what's blooming in gardens all over the world.

Hi Ginny,
Thanks for visiting my blog! Your photos are beautiful :) I also wanted to let you know that I joined your blog hop a while ago and used my old url: jenniferbowles.blogspot.com which is now no longer in existence (it is also title blush and bees). I have added my new blog url to the list with the same title. Looking forward to future posts from you!

You have so much in bloom right now - all so beautiful. I have been wanting to get some Hop Lips Salvia for the longest time and seeing your photo I am putting it at the top of my 'must have' for the garden list.

Lovely pics. I like the coreopsis and the pots, especially the one with the red flowers.

Ginny you do have a lot of blooms. Blanketflower did not do very well in my garden over the hot, hot summer. I might have to try again in the spring. Carolina is so pretty in the fall!

What a lovely post! I think I have that same coreopsis, although mine was already knocked into bloomlessness by the frosts. Your agastache is stunningly pretty. Fall is a warm and lovely season, and you've demonstrated it perfectly, Ginny. :)

The hot lips salvia are HOT! Luv them.

I notice some Diamond Frost in one of your containers. It's one of my favorites plants when added to containers.

Your yard looks like a lovely place to be this time of year.

Such a beautiful post, Ginny! It's a treat to me to see all your blooms, since we have very few left in the cold Midwest. But I also enjoyed your commentary; I agree I like the fall more and more as I get older. I think I take more time this time of year just to stop and really notice the beauty all around me. Thanks for visiting me!
