A doorway to other worlds

To me, the garden is a doorway to other worlds; one of them,
of course, is the world of birds. The garden is their dinner table,
bursting with bugs and worms and succulent berries.

Pretty photos, Ginny. I think the last photo they are wondering where the front door is to get in from the cold. I love your header, too.

Oh, how much fun it was seeing the vast array of birds that visit your garden! So many beautiful birds (the cardinals are my favorite). You certainly have a haven for them!

Well thank you for sharing National Bird Day with us...I didn't know a thing about it! And I am a bird lover too, so I needed to be reminded. Isn't it fun to see them in our yards? That is my pleasure and past-time in the winter. I have my camera set up in the kitchen and am always on the lookout. I can see we see most of the same visitors...which makes sense, since we're just a state away. I've been posting a little on birds but need to do way more before the flowers start sprouting again! Most of my photos stay in my files and I forget about them, which is a shame, I know. I like your idea of posting the past year. Happy New Year to you.

HI there Ginny - what lovely photographs. They make my excitement at seeing a Jay in the garden seem a little ridiculous!

Beautiful! I am determined to set up more bird feeders this year, especially outside windows that I can sit in front of. Thanks for the inspiration!

A super collection of yard birds for the year Ginny. Welcome to Bird Photography Weekly!

I really like the Red-bellied Woodpecker and the last shot of the sparrow, wren and cardinal at the snowy feeder. Fabulous!

Such a wonderful variety of birds you have in your garden! I have those same squirrel-proof birdfeeders, and they are fantastic! The only thing that has ever worked for me long-term, actually.

The birds have definitely been the source of entertainment since the cold weather set in...they are so much fun to watch - an easy way to spend a few quiet moments!
