Fling off thy sadness

Awake, thou wintry earth -
Fling off thy sadness!
Fair vernal flowers, laugh forth
Your ancient gladness!
~Thomas Blackburn, "An Easter Hymn"

The day the Lord created hope was probably the same day he created Spring. ~Bern Williams

May your heart be full of hope and gladness in this new season.

Looks like spring is springing in your neck of the woods :-) New life everywhere we look...certainly does bring a smile a gardener's face, doesn't it :-)

The quote you used is new to me and so fitting for this amazing and beautiful time of year! Wonderful post Ginny.

Not sure why I torture myself by looking at so many spring-looking blog posts, but I don't seem to stop myself. It gives me hope that spring will eventually reach zone 4. Gorgeous photos.

Great words by Bern Williams. Pleased to say Spring is also showing here in Scotland.

Such beauty to inspire me and remind me spring will indeed happen here in Wisconsin too, despite another snowstorm today. Love the hellebore, everything is so pretty.

Creative combination of images and words. That must be why we say: "Hope springs eternal." See you inspired me!
