Something new every morning

The transformation in my garden over the last week has been amazing.  We're at that stage of Spring when every morning brings some new bud or bloom or bright green shoot peeking out from the leaves.  The Chestnut Oak has begun to toss its tassels everywhere, on top of the yellow layer of pine pollen,
but it's a small price to pay for all of this new life.
We spent the weekend away from the garden, at the family lake house where I spent a lot of
time watching the bluebirds from the porch.

The ducks made an appearance, too.

And the sunset was amazing.
When we arrived home, the bees were visiting the crabapple blooms
and the columbine was budding.

This morning, I was greeted with a beautiful bloom and the sight of many more buds.  The columbine is one of the first plants that I started from seed, and it gives me extra joy to see them bloom.
The penstemon is standing tall and budding while the thyme is covered in tiny white blooms.
Hosta is poking out of the ground in some spots and well on its way above ground in others.

So much to enjoy now, and so much to look forward to (with my new gardening companion by my side)!!

I feel like I almost can't keep up with Spring, there are so many new things budding and emerging! The columbine is very pretty.

It is amazing how fast the growth is in spring. Beautiful columbine. I have some seeds for it - I've never grown it before. Your companion looks so sweet and pretty in between the flowers.

Lovely Ginny and what a great gardening companion

Ginny -- I love it when bloggers show us photos of their pets in the garden! Am envious of your ability to grow columbine, whether plants or seeds. I've tried several times but suspect they just don't grow here. Like half of everything else I'd love to have - peonies, astilbe, tulips, hosta.

Beautiful Ginny! Your thyme is blooming more than ours at the moment. Here our bees go crazy for their flowers all summer long. The columbine is exquisite, and your garden helper is adorable too!

Spring is just magical Ginny. Your white Columbine, I love, and they are earlier to bloom than ours. Your garden companion is looking so relaxed.

Oh, I love the lake shots--so peaceful. This post makes me want to head to the lake and adopt a dog. :)

What a cute pup, and garden friend. My favorite photo was the hosta, but you have so many beautiful blooms.
