On the second day of Christmas . . .

On this second day of Christmas there were no turtle doves, but we did receive the glorious gift of a snowstorm.  We only consider this type of storm a gift when it falls on a day when we aren't required to travel - and today was such a day.  I have so many pictures that I want to share that  I've put them in a slideshow instead of posting them individually.  A click anywhere above will take you to the slideshow on Picasa.
For those of us in the South, this snow is quite an event.  We were glued to the weather forecasts all week, not knowing how seriously it would disrupt plans to gather with family on Christmas Day.  We are thankful that our plans for Christmas Day weren't disrupted, and that the plans we had for today can be rescheduled without much difficulty.   We've had the luxury of staying home, enjoying snow cream, a warm fire, good books,  watching the birds out the window, and walking through the neighborhood.  On this second day of Christmas we continue to rejoice and celebrate, as we will until Epiphany. The gifts of the season are many and we are incredibly thankful.
May the twelve days of Christmas bring you joy.  Remember that the celebration has just begun!
