See me blush

Many of the buds on my Luna Blush Hibiscus opened just in time for the heavy thunderstorm we had last night.  The buds and the blooms were so heavy after the rain that I had to provide some support - something I've never had to do before.  The plant is in a large container on my deck and is beautiful for about six weeks - from mid-June until the end of July.  It will continue to bloom if I keep it evenly watered, but the blooms at the end of the season will be smaller. If it drys out, the leaves turn yellow and fall off.  Each bloom is almost tissue then and only lasts a day before folding up and falling to the ground (sticking to my deck if it's wet).  I hope to start another plant from seed next Spring.  If successful, I'll put it in the ground and compare how well it does to the container grown one.  I love having this one on the deck, though, where I can see it from the kitchen and sun room windows.  The picture above was taken last June, but the one below was taken yesterday.  This summer the Hibiscus is even larger, but it isn't in full bloom yet.

Hi Ginny,
What a gorgeous Hibiscus. You can see why it was named Luna Blush.
I would love to see more of what's going on in your garden.

Ginny those blooms look like the size of a dinner plate - very impressive indeed.
