"O hushed October morning mild"

"O hushed October morning mild,
Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;
Tomorrow's wind, if it be wild,
Should waste them all.
The crows above the forest call;
Tomorrow they may form and go.
O hushed October morning mild,
Begin the hours of this day slow.
Make the day seem to us less brief.
Hearts not averse to being beguiled,
Beguile us in the way you know.
Release one leaf at break of day;
At noon release another leaf;
One from our trees, one far away."
- Robert Frost, October

Beautiful photos Ginny, and a perfect poem from Frost for the first day of October.

Dear Ginny, Robert Frost is a poet who I greatly enjoy. This particular poem is largely unknown to me so this posting, together with your attractive images, has been especially delightful. Have a happy weekend.

Happy October to you, Ginny! Lovely leaf pictures. Enjoy your change of seasons. It's so pretty up there in fall. Oh, how I miss the Japanese maples!

I just love that header of yours. This post is perfect for the first of October. May this month bring you many days of colorful splendor!
Do you think Robert Frost could even fathom millions of people reading his work...and on a computer nonetheless?
Love that prose.

This is a lovely Autumnal posting Ginny - glad to have found your blog after you kindly visited my own one in France... I was looking at your previous one on rain - we've had a very dry summer here - a lot drier than normal and I must admit had been praying for rain and eventually after having had none pretty much for about 4 months it has rained continually and is still raining today :-) I hope it stops soon so I can at least get to some of my gardens that I look after! Have a good week - Miranda
