Fly away

Walking through the front yard yesterday, these seed pods on the Japanese maple caught my eye.  They look ready to fly away!  (Click the picture for a close-up view)

That could almost be the perfect picture of fall with the lovely fiery colors of your maple. Your seed pods do look ready to take flight!

Thanks for your visit to my blog. I thought I would come over and check out yours. I love it. My husband was just teaching our daughter yesterday how to make the maple seeds fly like helicopters. Such fun! Carla

Ginny: I love your photo of the seed pods. I was trying to take a similar shot of my Bloodgood but the light was wrong. Which maple is this?

Linda, I'm not sure which Maple this is. We bought it before I started saving plant tags. I have some other shots of it on some of my posts from the fall.
